The Alaskan Explorer Experience

Exclusive Skeptics and Secular Humanists Cruise

Join Paul Kurtz, Barbara Forrest, Mark Bowen, and Joe Nickell, for an adventure with Holland America's Alaskan Explorer cruise into the Inside Passage and spectacular glacial wilderness where eagles, whales, and minds roam free.

Expect the unexpected -- fully explicable by science, of course -- massive glacier calves, bald eagles soaring above, humpback whales diving below, and the night sky awakening to waves of color. And at the end of each day's adventure, return to the ship for fine dining, dazzling entertainment and luxurious accommodations.

But the excitement doesn't stop there!

A complete line-up of events and activities especially developed for skeptics and secular humanists is part of the package. Meet with leading minds for seven days of entertaining and educational lectures, discussions and recreational activities. Be a part of something grand and glorious!

Visit the best glaciers in Alaska, Glacier Bay National Park & Preserve. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and protected by the U.S. National Park Service, this pristine bay is filled with not only 11 world-famous tidewater glaciers and mountains rising to 15,000 feet but also an abundance of wildlife.

Highlights include:

Glacier Bay National Park
with Holland America Line

Huna Totem Native Speakers. A Holland America exclusive, our ships have a second exciting guest board for the day in Glacier Bay National Park. This local native storyteller is available to explain the cultural and spiritual significance of this land to our guests. Glacier Bay was home to this proud and prosperous people long before it was discovered by Europeans or preserved by the National Park Service. This rare opportunity to interact with a local expert should not be missed and can only be done while sailing with Holland America Line.

National Park Service Rangers. In partnership with the U. S. National Park Service, every sailing to Glacier Bay National Park includes an onboard visit by a National Park Ranger. Spending the day onboard, these visiting rangers help narrate the complex geographic story that unfolds as your ship sails north towards the glaciers. From the history of the bay's discovery by Captain Vancouver to modern scientific studies, the National Park Ranger is the expert on them all.

Unmatched Comforts with Amazing Scenery. The ms Westerdam, one of our new five-star, Vista-class ships, was built for viewing the wonders of Alaska better than any other ship. With fewer guests onboard, more space both indoors and outside, and expansive staterooms and verandahs, you will appreciate the difference you will find when you choose to sail with Holland America Line.
