The Junior Explorers Club is an extension of CFI Explorers, for young people ages 2 through 16 years. The club is a part of the travel program and Friends of the Center for Inquiry family membership and is also an activity of the Inquiring Minds program.
For young people participating in any of CFI's travel adventures, programs and activities will be designed exclusively for their age groups and on topics of interest to burgeoning skeptics and secular humanists. Where applicable, special projects will be included with themes centered around the travel destinations.
The Jr. Explorers Club is also a part of Camp Inquiry. To learn more about Camp Inquiry, please visit www.campinquiry.org.
The goals of the Jr. Explorers Club are:
- to foster critical and creative inquiry, science and reason.
- to provide learning programs which explore topics within the supernatural and paranormal realms.
- to help develop the thinking tools to make sense of the information and phenomena young people encounter.
- to learn about our global community and the diversity of cultures, beliefs and lifestyles.
- to investigate extraordinary locations of travel.
- to work with families in providing the best experiences for their loved ones.
- to have fun!
A variety of programs are in development for the Jr. Explorers Club. You can view them here. We will also work with parents and caregivers to ensure that our programming material supplements existing educational curricula.
In addition to exclusive programming provided by the Center for Inquiry, many of the travel companies we use have additional activities for young people. We will include detailed information about these offerings, like Holland America's HAL program for instance, within the areas designed for each travel expedition.
In addition to the Jr. Explorers Club outlined at this web site, we also have virtual travel adventures for young people, investigation resources, and much more. Please visit the activities and events area of the Inquiring Minds' web site.
